Book Launch – VISION: Art, Architecture and the National Gallery of Australia

Published in the 40th Anniversary year, VISION: Art, Architecture and the National Gallery of Australia celebrates the story behind the most significant landmark in the history of Australian architecture.

Join the National Gallery Director, Dr Nick Mitzevich and internationally respected architectural historian Professor Philip Goad for the launch of VISION: Art, Architecture and the National Gallery of Australia. Together they will discuss the ambition and beauty of the National Gallery building, delve into its design, construction and controversial aftermath, and 'dare to uncover its bones, revel in its concrete presence and retrieve its vision'.

National President of the Australian Institute of Architects, Shannon Battisson, will introduce the event and contextualise this significant building in the national landscape.
