Message from CEO

The 2024 Australian Architecture Conference in Melbourne is fast approaching. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to connect with members at our flagship annual gathering.

The conference steering committee has created an inspiring and informative program and with the full program now online I am very pleased to share a snapshot of what’s on offer for you and your practice.

The core conference program is Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May.

On Friday we will hear from six eminent local and international architects at the iconic Hamer Hall and announce the Institute’s 2024 Gold Medallist.

Later that evening we will gather to celebrate at the Bondor Metecno Gala Dinner, hearing from three Gold Medal recipients. Saturday’s presentations at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will provide an opportunity to tailor your conference experience through a menu of immersive seminars and energetic panel discussions and an industry led exhibition.

Importantly, there are 10 CPD formal points available across the two days.

Alongside these two conference days delegates are invited to attend the pre-conference Wellbeing of Architects [education + practice] symposium on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 May and select from a diverse suite of Fringe events, including the Alspec Return to the Centre forum on Thursday 9 May, where speakers from across the built environment sector will speculate on the future of the Australian CBD.

The Australian Architecture Conference is not only a platform for learning and professional growth but also an invaluable networking opportunity. I encourage each of you to make plans to join us for this exceptional event.

Let’s come together to celebrate our profession and shape the future of architecture in Australia.

Warm regards,
Cameron Bruhn
