PURPOSE
Established in 2013, the Foundation promotes artistic and technical excellence in architecture for Australian communities and helps the public understand what good design contributes to Australian life.
Our current appeal
The Foundation is currently raising funds to support the Australian Architecture Exhibition comprising the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2027 and its Australian activation at the Museums of History, NSW in 2028.
Australia's presentation, Lived In, will share an important and timely story about how Australians live and how architecture can help shape better housing futures. Drawing on the Housing Atlas of Australia, it connects architectural knowledge with the realities of everyday life.
Your support will take Lived In from concept to international exhibition, ensuring Australia can present this important story with ambition and impact. Donor contributions will support the 2027 Venice presentation and its 2028 Australian activation, extending the life of the project and creating opportunities for broader public engagement, dialogue and legacy.
More than a decade of impact
The Foundation has helped deliver programs that strengthen architecture, enrich communities and create lasting impact.
More than $200,000 in support since 2018, reaching over 100,000 visitors at each Biennale.
600 practices connected with communities rebuilding after the 2019-20 bushfires.
Nine international architects in residence from 2014 to 2018, sharing ideas across borders.
