How many points do you need?
Most states require a minimum of 20 CPD points per year, with at least 10 formal points. Your exact requirements depend on where you are registered. Check your state requirements.
What counts as CPD?
CPD activities have defined learning outcomes linked to the national competency standards in architecture. They fall into four areas: design, documentation, project management, and practice management. Activities must be additional to your normal course of practice.
What is the difference between formal and informal CPD?
Formal CPD includes assessment or significant interaction between presenter and participant. Informal CPD covers activities like reading, attending meetings, or self-directed study without formal assessment. Both count towards your annual points, but most states require a minimum number of formal points.
