2024 Far North Queensland Regional Awards Commended Projects and Event Photos

The Queensland Chapter had their second 2024 Regional Awards event on Friday, 17 May 2024.

The Far North Queensland Regional Architecture Awards were held at Wharf One Cafe in Cairns on Friday, 17 May. Entries included submissions into the public and educational award categories. Three named award winners and two commendations were given across the categories and one project was recognised for social impact.

Award winners:

• Cairns Convention Centre by Cox Architecture and CA Architects, Eddie Oribin Award for Building of the Year
• Cairns State High School Multipurpose Hall, Bou-wa by TPG Architects, Regional Project of the Year
• Atherton Hospital Redevelopment by Peddle Thorp for Far North Queensland People’s Choice Award

Commended projects in Far North Queensland this year are:

• Cairns Convention Centre by Cox Architecture and CA Architects
• Cairns State High School Multipurpose Hall, Bou-wa by TPG Architects

All commended projects in the series of regional awards progress to Queensland State Awards consideration. The shortlist is judged by the Queensland State Awards Jury.
