Recognising excellence at regional, chapter, and
national levels

The Institute’s Awards Program enables public and peer recognition of the innovative work of our members, and provides the Institute with a valuable mechanism to promote architects and architecture across Australia and internationally.

By entering into the NSW Architecture Awards, one of the entry points to the Institute’s National Architecture Awards program, members give yourself, your practice and your staff the opportunity to be judged for the work you are proud of, the issues you stand for and to demonstrate your work among your peers.

Participating in the awards can be an important step in strengthening your membership in the architectural community, and a celebrated milestone in your career, whether you are an emerging or established architect, a small firm or large practice.

The 2026 NSW Architecture Awards will open for entries on 16 November 2025.

2025 WINNERS, GALLERY & ARCHIVE

The 205 NSW Architecture Awards were our biggest yet, with a record number of entries across the categories.

36 Jurors had the difficult task of shortlisting from the entry pool, selecting their finalists from a full week of in person and virtual presentations held at NSW Chapter Headquarters, Tusculum House. The shortlist was expansive and diverse, featuring projects as far north as Brunswick Heads, as far south as Woodstock, as as far inland as Cobar.

The awards culminated in the annual Gala Evening, which was held in the shortlisted building, 1 Elizabeth. ILUMINA played host to a packed audience, with Commendations, Awards, Named Awards, and Prizes all announced throughout the evening. In between a silent disco and a vinyl DJ, the highlight of the evening was the announcement of the NSW Architecture Medallion, which was awarded to the Sydney Metro project and saw the full cohort of contributing architects ascend the stage!

The NSW Chapter thanks all the entrants, jurors, partners, and others who supported the program!
