City of Adelaide Prize for Design Excellence

Established in 2009, the City of Adelaide Prize for Design Excellence celebrates projects that add to the quality of the City’s built environment. Projects can be submitted by architects as well as other creative disciplines, including landscape architects, engineers, designers, and artists.
Over the past 16 years, entries have included artworks, urban design and streetscape projects, civic, commercial, hospitality and cultural buildings as well as playgrounds, active recreation facilities and exhibitions. The entries highlight the diversity of projects – public and private – delivered in the City and the wealth of creative talent that exists in Adelaide.
The Prize demonstrates the many and varied facets that make our city one of the most liveable in the world. It showcases projects that promote active lifestyles, support cultural engagement, attract tourists and engage the local community, enhance vibrancy, improve sustainability and make the City a better place to live and work.
The City of Adelaide Prize for Design Excellence is a direct entry category within the Institute’s South Australian Architecture Awards Program, delivered in partnership with the City of Adelaide.
