  • Associate members will see a fee increase of only $9 with smaller increases for members overseas.
  • Concession fees for retired members and those taking parental or post-graduate study leave are frozen at 2023 rates and a new concessional fee has been introduced for those working 2 days or less per week.
  • If you’re recently registered as an architect or moved to a practising status, then let us know and we’ll move you to a new category.

2024 renewal notices will be issued on 7 December 2023 with fees due for payment no later than 16 January 2024

If you hold an accredited qualification in architecture (Master of Architecture or equivalent) that was attained more than 5 years ago (2018 or earlier), your membership category will be automatically transferred to the Associate category, in line with your career progression.

Individual members can pay either by one annual payment or in four quarterly instalments. If you wish to change your payment frequency for 2024, please update your preference in the My Membership section of your profile via the member portal by 28 November.

If you have missed the 28 November deadline to change your payment frequency, please email the membership team at membership@architecture.com.au.

Please email the membership team at membership@architecture.com.au to unlock your account.

Concessional fee is avalaible to members working the equivalent of 2 days or less per week or 16 or less hours. Submit your application by 28 November to be considered prior to 2024 membership renewal.

The Institute defines ‘retired’ as spending no more than 20% of your time (or one day per week) on income earning activities. The Institute’s Retired provision provides current members with the opportunity to apply for a reduced membership fee, while retaining all the rights and privileges of full individual membership. Submit your application by 28 November to be considered prior to 2024 membership renewal.

If you have already been approved for the Retired provision, and your circumstances continue to meet the eligibility requirements, you will continue to receive the reduced Retired membership fee rate in 2024 and do not need to re-apply. If you wish to confirm your ongoing eligibility, please email the membership team at membership@architecture.com.au.

Parental Leave

The Institute provides special dispensation to those who work 20 hours or less per week to care for children under 5 years of age. Submit your application before 28 November to be considered prior to 2024 membership renewal.

Post Graduate Leave

Current members who have reduced or left work due to undertaking post-graduate studies to further their career in the built environment are eligible for the Post Graduate Leave discounted fee option. Submit your application before 28 November to be considered prior to 2024 membership renewal.

If you already have a registered card linked to your membership payments, simply update your card details in the My Membership section of your profile via the member portal by 28 November.
