2025 PRESIDENT'S PRIZE FOR SERVICES TO REGIONAL ARCHITECTURE
The President’s Award for services to Regional Architecture is a new award for the Regional Division that recognises the contribution of an individual or firm to the regional landscape.
The innaugural President’s Award was presented at the 2025 Regional and Newcastle Awards to the late Dylan Wood, who spent much of his career carving out a legacy of making and crafting.
Turning down the opportunity to work in Sydney, Dylan’s unique approach to architecture and furniture making added to the architectural landscape of the state’s Mid North Coast. These included the James Barnet Award and Blacket Prize-winning Hall and Library at St Joseph’s Primary School, Wingham, as well as Albert Street Towers in Taree.
Dylan was an architect and creator who believed that authenticity was important both in life and in architecture, and that the making was as important as the creating.
