The 2021 Australian Urban Design Awards are now open!

The Australian Urban Design Awards (AUDA) have officially opened for nominations and will remain open until Tuesday, 20 July.

The AUDA serve to recognise contemporary Australian urban design projects of the highest quality and to encourage cities, towns and communities across the country to strive for best practice in all projects. The awards are made up of four categories which are listed below.

Award categories

  • Built projects – city and regional scale
    This category recognises completed built projects that are at a town, suburb, city or region scale.
  • Built projects – local and neighbourhood scale
    This category recognises completed built projects at a site, local, or neighbourhood scale.
  • Leadership, advocacy and research – city and regional scale
    This category recognises proposed projects and ideas that could facilitate, guide or promote urban design excellence at a national, state/territory, regional or city scale.
  • Leadership, advocacy and research – local and neighbourhood scale
    This category recognises proposed projects and ideas that could facilitate, guide or promote urban design excellence at a site, local or neighbourhood scale.
