Renovate or Rebuild TV Show

The Institute has been approached by a production company in association with Channel 9 regarding an exciting opportunity for our members.

‘Renovate or Rebuild’ is a 60-minute lifestyle program that will see two teams compete to convince a family that they have the best plan to increase the space and comfort of their house and reduce their energy bills. We are seeking expressions of interest to participate in this new residential renovation TV show and assist the teams with their designs.

In each episode the viewers will be taken on a journey through the design process as the teams juggle the challenges of meeting the client’s brief and budget whilst creating a standout design that will lead to a comfortable, healthy and efficient home.

Whilst details are being finalised, members’ interest is being sought from those specialising in NatHERS retro fit and/or new residential design and who would be happy to provide complimentary design services in return for exposure. Two firms will be selected for each project, with one providing retro fit and the other new residential design concepts. The project numbers and locations are:

3 x NSW
1 x Queensland
3 x Victoria

Residential sustainable design is the focus of the show. Due to COVID-19 risk management, in addition to experience and skills, firms will be selected based on their geographic locations in alignment with project location.

In return for architectural services to provide concept design, the selected practices will be featured throughout the program. There is currently a plan for six one-hour episodes, scheduled to air in 2021 in a primetime slot on Channel 9Life. It’s expected that the new show will attract a minimum audience reach of 2.8 million.

Please note that this is not a competition, this is a contra arrangement with a schedule of deliverables for each party. Any work delivered by firms beyond this schedule of deliverables will be remunerated. A formal EOI document will be sent which outlines the deliverables, the contracting arrangement, in addition to the application and selection process.

If you feel your practice is well positioned then please register your early interest by completing the form below and we will be in touch with further information.
