nsw people’s choice awards for life in 2020

COVID-19 restrictions have given everyone, architects and otherwise, occasion to reflect intently on space – the spaces we live in and the spaces we’d love to live in, the essential workplaces that remain active to serve the community, and the places we’d love to spend time if only lockdown restrictions were relaxed.

This year, in response to the new appreciation the wider community has for quality spaces, we are introducing the NSW People’s Choice Awards for Life in 2020, where all shortlisted 2020 NSW Architecture Awards projects are in the running for three award categories: Isolation Oasis, We’re All In This Together, and Post-Iso Party.

Open to voting by everyone, this playful set of awards will seriously recognise the projects that inspire us in the context of our altered relationships to our housing, workplaces, centres of essential community services and to the public domain.

Maximum 3 votes per person

Voting extended to close 11:59PM Monday 22 June.

Winners will be announced at the NSW Architecture Awards livestream on Friday 3 July from 7:00pm. Register here.

The Australian Institute of Architects acknowledges First Nations peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands, waters, and skies of the continent now called Australia.

We express our gratitude to their Elders and Knowledge Holders whose wisdom, actions and knowledge have kept culture alive.

We recognise First Nations peoples as the first architects and builders. We appreciate their continuing work on Country from pre-invasion times to contemporary First Nations architects, and respect their rights to continue to care for Country.
