A final message encouraging architects to continue building a strong, collective voice for the profession.
This is my final message as the SA Executive Director. After 10 years in the role, I have made the difficult decision to move on. It has been a privilege to support and advocate for architects through the activities and programs offered by the SA Chapter, and to connect our members with the work undertaken nationally.
I want to thank the collaborative, passionate people I have worked alongside during this time. It has been a wonderful journey—one that has enabled me to grow my knowledge, contribute to debates on topical issues, and engage with a wide cross-section of members and associated professionals.
The collective voice of Institute members is a powerful tool. Architects bring unique perspectives and an ability to solve complex problems. Architecture enriches human experience and has the capacity to positively impact our environment and communities.
I encourage you to continue working together to articulate this value and provide an effective, respected voice for the profession. Architects’ capacity to see things differently and to develop bespoke responses is a critical asset in practice. Our ability to collectively argue for the profession’s value and to form shared positions on pressing issues will enable architects to realise their full potential and be recognised as a trusted voice in shaping the future.
