The annual NSW Fellows Luncheon is a celebration of architects who have dedicated themselves to significant contributions to the profession beyond architectural practice. Held yesterday, Monday 3 November 2025 at the Stranger’s Room in NSW Parliament House, the lunch was marked by the highly anticipated announcement of this year’s newly elevated Fellows, Honorary Fellows, and Life Fellows.
Fellowship is awarded annually to those who have demonstrated outstanding and enduring services to the architecture profession. Honorary Fellowship acknowledges individuals who, while not architects themselves, have advanced architecture’s role in creating more sustainable and resilient communities. Life Fellowship is the highest honour class of Institute membership, awarded to Fellow members who, in the opinion of the National Council, have rendered notable contributions to the progression of Architecture in design, construction, literature, education, public service, or in any other way deemed worthy of the honour.
NSW Chapter President, Elizabeth Carpenter commented that, “It was a truly inspiring occasion celebrating the dedication and contributions of our Fellows, Honorary Fellows, and Life Fellows.
“The elevation of fellowship marks a moment of pride and reflection for our profession. Our newest Fellows, Honorary Fellows, and Life Fellows exemplify the passion and generosity that NSW design is known for.
“Each person honoured today has made a lasting contribution. Their enduring commitment to excellence, collaboration, and innovation continues to advance architectural practice across NSW.”
The Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter honoured twenty-three Fellows, four Honorary Fellows, and four Life Fellows in recognition of each individuals’ contributions to the profession. The Institute also recognised the enduring legacies of members who are no longer with us, honouring members Jade Young and David Boyle with Fellowship and Penny Morris with Life Fellowship.
It was an important day of connection, commemoration, and celebration.
This event was made possible by our event partners, so thankyou to our Major Event Partner, Lysaght and our Silver Event Partner, Krause Bricks.
