A membership organisation is driven by the collective, and the continuing passion and drive of the profession never ceases to inspire and provide leadership, not just for the profession, but the community more broadly. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have contributed to the collective, and for your dedication and expertise throughout the year. The Institute is fortunate to be guided by this, informing the work that is undertaken and the messages that we bring to all areas of advocacy. I would in particular like to thank Stuart Tanner, Shamus Mulcahy, Andrew Williamson, Daniel Lane, Dik Jarman, Geatano Palmese, Jason Licht, Jono Buist, Kate Symons, Lucy Burke-Smith, Megan Baynes, Will Harkness, Kathrine Vand, Aaron Lougoon and Nuri Mohamed, and all committees and working groups for their tireless work.
2023 will signify the 120th anniversary of the Tasmanian Chapter, and we look to celebrating this significant milestone with the membership. Planning will get underway in the new year, so please let us know if you have any ideas about how this could be appropriately celebrated.
The Institute will be closing for the Christmas break on Friday, December 23 and will re-open on Tuesday, January 3.
Our tight-knit team wishes Fiona McMullen all the best as she embarks on the most rewarding role of being a mum. As many of you will have experienced, Fiona lives and breathes architecture and design and her significant contribution to advocacy and the Chapter will be deeply missed in 2023. I take this opportunity to thank her sincerely for her dedication and consummate writing skills that have continually represented your views with eloquence and exactness.
I hope to see you all at the various celebrations happening around the state prior to Christmas. If I don’t, then I wish you and your families and safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. Katie and I look forward to working with you all in 2023.
