The Tasmanian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects is meeting every six months with representatives of the Department Treasury and Finance to discuss matters of mutual interest.
In the latest meeting, prequalification was discussed, and we have been advised the following:
- When assessing applications for registration as an approved consultant under the Department of Treasury and Finance Prequalification Scheme, Treasury is taking factors such as material cost escalation and project delivery delays experienced in recent years into consideration where relevant.
- Treasury’s prequalification assessment process includes consideration of a range of information, including external checks and verifications. Treasury is currently experiencing a high volume of applications for prequalification and the assessment process may take up to six weeks to complete. Treasury encourages applicants to ensure their applications are complete and include all requested information, to ensure the assessment process is as smooth as possible.
