Ask an Architect [Virtually] at the Asia Pacific Architecture Festival

Thinking about building a new home or renovating an existing one, but aren’t sure where to begin?

Ask an Architect, hosted by the Australian Institute of Architects (Queensland Chapter) during the Asia Pacific Architecture Festival (APAF), provides the perfect opportunity to talk to and seek inspiration from a leading architect.

If you’re thinking about a climate appropriate renovation, have a half-completed DIY project you need some advice on, or are looking to demystify the client–architect relationship, here’s your opportunity to learn more and ask questions.

Australian Institute of Architects State Manager Anna Svensdotter encouraged people from across the state to book a virtual mini consultation with an architect at the free Ask an Architect event.

“This unique online event offers a series of 30-minute consultations with Queensland architects from regions including Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. With a strong focus on climate smart strategies and sustainability, our team of highly experienced architects will be on hand to answer any questions people have in relation to their renovation or building project.”

“We encourage registered participants to bring photos, plans and DIY disaster stories to kickstart the creative process.”

Architects participating in the event include:

  • Carl Brown, BEAT Architects (Rockhampton)
  • Ellen Buttrose, People Oriented Design (Cairns)
  • Brooke Graham, OGE Group, (Sunshine Coast)
  • Peter McArdle, PTMA Architecture (Greater Brisbane / Moreton area)
  • Peter Muller, CA Architects (Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane)
  • Joseph Pappalardo, PARC (Brisbane)
  • Emma Scragg, Emma Scragg Architect (Brisbane / Monto)
