Ask an Architect at Brisbane Open House

Thinking about building a new home or renovating an existing one, but aren’t sure where to begin?

Ask an Architect, hosted by the Australian Institute of Architects (Queensland Chapter) during Brisbane Open House weekend, provides the perfect opportunity to talk to and seek inspiration from a leading architect.

If you’re thinking about a climate appropriate renovation, have a half-completed DIY project you need some advice on, or are looking to demystify the client–architect relationship, here’s your opportunity to learn more and ask questions.

Australian Institute of Architects State Manager Anna Svensdotter said not only will Brisbane residents have the opportunity to celebrate great architecture during Brisbane Open House weekend, but they will also now have the chance to book a mini consultation with a local architect at the free Ask an Architect event.

“This unique event offers a series of 30-minute consultations with Queensland architects. With a strong focus on climate smart strategies and sustainability, our team of highly experienced architects will be on hand to answer any questions people have in relation to their renovation or building project.”

“We encourage registered participants to bring photos, plans and DIY disaster stories to kickstart the creative process.”

Architects participating in the event include:

  • Amy Degenhart, degenhartSHEDD
  • Chris Bligh, Bligh Graham Architects
  • Julie Lawrence, Plot Architecture
  • Nicole Milne, DKO
  • Paul Butterworth, Paul Butterworth Architect
  • Peter McArdle, PTMA Architecture
