We are excited to share our collaboration with Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, The Sony Foundation and Erilyan Pty Ltd.
Established by the Sony Foundation in 2010, YouCan Centres are specifically tailored to young adults 15-24 years who are diagnosed with cancer.
With expansive city views, the conversion of this space into tranquil apartments, homely breakout areas and fun lounge therapy spaces offers a safe haven and respite for families and young people affected by cancer.
Our long term relationship with Erilyan and Lifehouse has empowered Team 2 Architects to work toward the delivery of this high quality support center, building upon our platform of providing care facilities for young people with cancer.
The You Can Centre builds a community for patients to meet new people in similar situations and share experiences to feel less isolated in their journey. The Centre provides a homely and accessible place for young cancer patients to take a break from their treatment and enjoy time with family and friends, learn new things and meet new people.
The Centre provides long-distance patients and their families a second home. This allows comfortable, affordable access to treatment and to stay in a place that is more accessible to their needs and luxurious than other accommodation services near the hospital.

We express our gratitude to their Elders and Knowledge Holders whose wisdom, actions and knowledge have kept culture alive.
We recognise First Nations peoples as the first architects and builders. We appreciate their continuing work on Country from pre-invasion times to contemporary First Nations architects, and respect their rights to continue to care for Country.
