Media summary

The house is located within the Mount Lawley Heritage protection area. The existing residence had undergone a series of modifications over the years and had lost many of its original features. The rear lean to was demolished to make way for the new additions and the existing house brought back to its original external form with the timber verandah reinstated and tuck pointed façade reapplied. The internal layout was remodelled to form a private zone for the recently retired owners.

The façade of the house now fits comfortably within the heritage streetscape but with the new additions to the rear providing the space and facilities required to age in place by the owners.

The new entry, setback from the front façade, opens to reveal a light filled living space opening onto private landscaped courtyards to entertain a multi generational family.
