Kangan Institute’s Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HaCCoE) is a pivotal development that emphasises the importance of contemporary training in health and community services. As the first step in revitalising Kangan’s Broadmeadows campus, HaCCoE creates inviting and engaging learning environments that celebrate our caring professions, inspiring students in their educational journeys.
Harmoniously scaled in its urban context, a transparent south façade connects seamlessly with the Town Park. The softly articulated brickwork promotes a warmth while reflecting the materiality of its local context.
Inside, a sense of calm is achieved through a minimal material palette of timber, concrete, glass and views to Country beyond. Digitally enabled industry simulation learning spaces provide engaging and interactive environments designed for nursing, pathology, disability support, residential care, and early childhood education.
Set to achieve 5 Star Green Star certification, HaCCoE exemplifies sustainable design and encourages individuals to pursue careers in the caring professions.
Kangan Institute’s Health and Community Centre of Excellence brings best-in-class training facilities, skills and technologies to the heart of Broadmeadows.
It’s a game changer for Hume City, with Kangan Institute able to introduce courses to the community in critical skills such as nursing, aged care, pathology and health assistance.
More than 700 students will train here annually, many of whom will be local. Students will be set up for success through an unparalleled vocational learning experience and strong pathways with university, industry and community partners, creating a long-term pipeline of workers ready to fill the in-demand jobs of Melbourne’s North.
