Media summary

Jack Edwards Stadium delivers a new benchmark for community sporting infrastructure, providing a national-league–compliant facility that serves both elite competition and everyday community use. Designed for the City of Monash and Oakleigh Cannons Football Club, the project transforms a constrained site into a civic landmark through a clear architectural strategy centred on elevated seating, optimal sightlines and layered program beneath the grandstand.

The stadium features 500 covered spectator seats beneath a dramatic cantilevered roof, professional-grade player facilities, and generous social spaces with direct views to the pitch. A clearly articulated northern entry and animated façades establish a strong presence within the reserve, reinforcing the building’s role as a public destination.

Durable, low-maintenance materials and adaptable internal planning maximise long-term value and flexibility, allowing the facility to support a wide range of community events. The completed stadium supports health, wellbeing and social connection while fostering pride and identity for users.

Jack Edwards Reserve Pavilion was designed to celebrate the club’s vital role in the community and its status as a National Premier League (NPL) venue. The facility not only meets Football Victoria (FV) standards but also creates an inspiring and active environment for players and visitors alike. Welcoming to all, the stadium features gender-neutral and fully accessible facilities. Thoughtfully integrated into the broader reserve, it establishes a new arrival point and serves as a central focus for the main football pitch, strengthening both the sporting and community experience.
