Mezzanine House is a refined exploration of spatial clarity, materiality, and texture, balancing contemporary minimalism with warmth. A curated palette of concrete, metal, and timber fosters a sense of openness, lightness, and flexibility, while seamless transitions between rooms enhance both function and aesthetic integrity.
Materials such as textural timber, smooth concrete, and matte metal invite sensory engagement, creating a timeless atmosphere. Natural light flows through large windows, connecting the interior with coastal views and deepening the spatial experience. This dialogue between interior and exterior is further reinforced by cabinetwork that mirrors the home’s architectural forms.
Public and private zones are carefully delineated, with open-plan living spaces oriented towards the coast, while private areas offer intimacy further inside. Sustainability strategies prioritize natural light, ventilation, and durable, low-maintenance materials. The design ensures comfort, flexibility, and longevity, offering adaptable spaces that accommodate both family life and private moments with a timeless elegance.
Inspired by the coast the design embraces easy living with seamless indoor-outdoor spaces that invite the ocean breeze and sunlight into our home. For our family of five, the open-plan layout encourages connection, while private retreats allow for quiet times. The one-bedroom apartment above reflects thoughtful planning, offering flexibility for empty nesting and visiting family. Our home balances beauty and practicality, allowing us to work, play, and relax with ease. It offers us everything we need as a family & will for transitioning years.
