C House, located in Templestowe Lower, is an innovative family home designed to harmonise with its sloping site while prioritising sustainability, functionality, and adaptability. With a cut-and-fill neutral approach, the design works seamlessly with the natural gradient, minimising environmental impact. The home features a central courtyard, maximising natural light and cross-ventilation, while providing a unique connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The interior design emphasises a neutral palette and multi-functionality, enabling the house to grow with the family’s evolving needs. The clever-designed multi-purpose room transforms effortlessly into a tea room, playroom, toy storage, family theatre, or guest bedroom, ensuring adaptability for various stages of family life. The main staircase also doubles as a playful communication hub, blending function with creativity.
Sustainability is further enhanced through pre-finished, locally sourced materials and energy-efficient design.

The design of C House perfectly aligns with the way we live, work, and play as a family. The architect understood our needs and followed the brief closely, especially in minimising internal steps, which has made the home highly accessible and functional. The open-plan living areas and central courtyard create a natural flow, enhancing our connection to each other and the outdoors. The multi-purpose room offers great flexibility, allowing us to easily adapt the space as our family grows. The design successfully balances practicality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal, making our daily life more enjoyable.
