The Bundaberg Regional Aquatic Facility is for elite athlete training, learn to swim, remedial training and recovery for all community members. Designed for regional events, and as a national/ international training venue, it is designed to World Aquatics standards with 3 pools, gyms and multipurpose rooms. A covered roof, 50m ten lane pool (swimming, waterpolo, underwater hockey), a 25m 6 lane competition/training pool and a 25m warm water program pool for learn to swim, recovery, and recreational activities. All pools enjoy a high level of accessibility with ramps, lifts and hoist options. The design concept references the original Anzac Pool being highly visible to the community, and celebrating its purpose as a community asset. Taking design cues from the linear nature of lane swimming, the original site's showground pavilion structure, the original Anzac Pool change rooms and the region's geological volcanic history.
The opening of this world-class venue in time for summer holidays marks a new era for the Bundaberg community – it’s set to become the region’s premier destination for aquatic leisure and competition level swimming. Our opening weekend was a huge success and lots of families and kids attended, dove into the fun and praised the amenities which was a pleasure to see. It was great to officially open the doors to the public.
