This project redefines public utility architecture through a dual pavilion design that fosters transparency, inclusivity, and environmental resilience. Set within an industrial precinct, it transforms a utilitarian site into a welcoming, public facility. The project reflects strong collaboration across disciplines and delivers long-term value through low-cost, durable design. It provides a high quality and welcoming workplace for council workers and strengthens community ties—setting a new benchmark for regional commercial/industrial architecture.
Client Statement
The new WaSS depot enhances operational efficiency and staff wellbeing by centralising water and sewer services in a purpose-built facility. It provides improved accommodation, streamlined storage, and upgraded infrastructure that supports compliance, safety, and growth. The depot enables better coordination across teams, reduces travel time, and improves response capability for network operations. Staff led improvements, such as expanded office space and optimised layout, reflect a proactive approach to workplace functionality. This investment strengthens service delivery and future proofs the region’s water and sewer infrastructure, aligning with strategic goals and community expectations.
