Wallumattagal people of the Dharug Nation
New South Wales
15 Khartoum Road by Choi Studio is a new workplace destination at the heart of Stockland’s life sciences and technology precinct, MPark.
Located on Wallumattagal Country, Macquarie Park is one of Sydney’s most significant employment hubs. Choi Studio approached the project as an opportunity to reshape the broader urban experience of the area.
The building reimagines the office as civic infrastructure, stitching together park, streets, retail and workplaces. It integrates with the park designed by Square One Landscape Architects in collaboration with Ngurra and the Dharug Working Group. The building and park form an ecological system that integrates cultural narrative.
Targeting 6 Star Green Star, 5.5 Star NABERS, Platinum WiredScore and Net Zero in operation, 15 Khartoum Road reframes what a commercial building can be in a non-CBD context – a place designed for people, landscape and community, supporting Macquarie Park’s growth into a more architecturally ambitious precinct.
Stockland selected Choi Studio’s competition-winning design for its seamless connection between workplace and landscape, creating an activated public interface that anchors the precinct. The building’s elevated form and striking colonnade establish an inviting, human‑scaled arrival experience, while every floor enjoys uninterrupted views across the 2,500 sqm park. Robust, enduring materials support lower operational costs and ensure longevity. As the centrepiece of MPark Stage 1, the building and its double‑height lobby form a natural central gathering space for tenants and visitors. The colonnade supports future retail uses and will be a vibrant, welcoming place for people to meet, collaborate, and enjoy.
