Smeg have entered into partnership with Australia’s peak body for architecture, the Australian Institute of Architects.
Representing approximately 13,000 members, the Australian Institute of Architects is committed to demonstrating the value of architecture and strengthening the profession as well as advocating on behalf of the architectural community. Like Smeg, the Institute is also dedicated to promoting quality, responsible and sustainable design to enhance both lifestyle and the environment.
A key partnership initiative is the Smeg Tour Competition, recognising outstanding kitchen design and celebrating the best of local design talent. Entrants are invited to submit a kitchen project to be in the running to attend the prestigious 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale and join the coveted Smeg Tour, which takes in the cultural and culinary delights of Emilia Romagna, namely sumptuous cuisine, technological innovation, world-renowned architecture and the heart of Smeg. The Smeg Tour Competition is supported by Vogue Living, a premium media brand devoted to the beauty and wonder of design, home, life and people.
Livia McRobert, Head of Marketing, Smeg Australia: “We see the Australian Institute of Architects partnership as an adjunct to our long tradition of architectural collaborations, offering genuine design choice to suit all styles and tastes. Each of Smeg’s five distinct aesthetic collections is original; where form, ergonomics and function are rigorously applied.
“We look forward to working closely with the Australian Institute of Architects to support the architectural community. Along with the illustrious Smeg Tour Competition and 2023 Venice Architectural Biennale, we have a full program of national and state-based events planned as well as participation in the Institute’s two feature events, the national awards in November and the national conference in the second half of 2023.”
Michael Linke, General Manager, Australian Institute of Architects: “The Australian Institute of Architects are delighted to partner with Smeg and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with the ultimate goal of supporting and celebrating Australian architecture.”
