Message from the Victorian State Manager

It is becoming clear that the impacts of the current crisis will have medium to long-term disruptive effects on the things we have come to view as normal. Here at the Institute we have adapted pretty quickly to our staff working remotely and we are now focused more than ever on how we can continue to deliver support and programs for our members. We do acknowledge that there are many changes happening very quickly over short periods of time, we are endeavouring to address key changes that affect our people and members.

Some of the activities you can tap into currently include platforms to ensure you are not isolated as an individual or business. We are running Lean In sessions on Zoom and have established groups on slack to go with all the latest information provided in our communications. These platforms are proving to be engaging and effective ways for members to share their experiences, information and tips from across a number of areas including business, adapting to the current climate and staying physically and mentally healthy.

Look out for our awards program, which we have adjusted to meet the current restrictions as we know continuity of such a program is important for both the Institute and our members who participate in its various forms. Finally, a number of members have expressed concerns about CPD. As of July, the ARBV has stated you will need to declare that you have completed CPD on registration. While we wait for the ARBV to consider changes to the operating environment, we are going ahead with developing an online CPD program. Stay tuned for this. Finally, the Institute has many resources geared towards supporting you and your business to cope and adapt, please visit our website to review what might be useful for you at this point. HR Hub is proving to be a great resource, stay healthy and positive. This too, will pass.
