Co-curate the 2022 Lean In Schedule with us

Born as a rapid response to support our members during the COVID-19 Pandemic the Lean In sessions have been established as a well-loved member service.

We are seeking creative ideas for speakers and topics for the 2022 Lean In schedule.

We’ll be holding sessions fortnightly, starting in July, and we are reaching out to our Members and Committees for ideas on key topics. Guidelines are provided below which will ensure suggestions are in line with the desired outcome.

There are four themes of presentations for 2022:

Theme Guidance
Policy • A key policy issue you would like to hear more about
The Business of Architecture • Is there a practice management topic that your practice would like assistance with? Topics might include succession planning, shareholding, HR, graduate programs, leadership, marketing and more.
• Is there a specific firm that are doing something special you would like to learn about? Or an iconic leader who you would like to share their background and motivators?
Sustainable Design • Is there a technical skill or detail which you would like to learn more about to assist with your sustainable designs?
• Would you like to hear about a specific project that achieved outstanding sustainable design outcomes? Or a new material or process that you would like to learn about?
Design Technology • Is there a design technology skill, program, or process which you would like to learn more about?
• Would you like to hear about a specific project that used design technology to achieve new outcomes?

If you have a suggestion in mind, please consider the following:

  • Each Lean In allows for a 40–minute presentation and 20-minute Q&A to follow
  • We are looking for subject matter expert speakers (with the bio to prove it)
  • These sessions are designed to democratise knowledge and help the profession
  • Applicants should not nominate themselves as speakers
  • Not all suggestions can be actioned, but all will be considered
