Climate Action in Architecture Survey

The climate crisis has catalysed the need for rapid up-skilling of practitioners. We need new CPD and curriculum for architects in the 21st Century.

If you are working in architectural practice, we want to hear from you! The survey will take 10-15 minutes.

This survey is part of a larger Climate Literacy and Action in Architecture project in partnership with the Association of Architecture Schools of Australasia (AASA) and the Australian Institute of Architects. It is a collaborative research project between The University of Queensland, University of New South Wales, RMIT University, Building 4.0 CRC, and University of Sydney.

The purpose of this survey is to understand and evaluate how architects, and those working in architectural practice are responding to climate change and sustainability issues, what barriers exist, and what resources and supports are required to aid action in the profession.

Please tell us:
  • What climate action you want to see?
  • What are the barriers in your practice?
  • What CPD do you need?
This survey will guide the development of architectural CPD and university programs AND you could win one of 25 copies of Design: Building on Country by Alison Page & Paul Memmott.

Survey closes Wednesday, 30 November 2022.

Architecture Climate Futures is leading this survey in partnership with the Australian Institute of Architects and the Association of Architecture Schools of Australasia (AASA). In 2021 all architecture schools in Australia and New Zealand were surveyed and 95% of respondents were ‘very concerned’ or ‘concerned’ about climate change and wanted to learn more through their degree. The survey also revealed the urgent need to connect architecture education with industry transformation for effective climate action.
