2024 Acumen January update

Learning. Engaging. Knowing. Our Acumen notes continue to provide knowledge and engagement to all levels of the profession, from students to experienced practitioners. In this update, view some of our recently updated notes covering topics such as project management, contracts and managing people, and new notes on business continuity, ecological connectivity and slip resistance. Acumen 60 year anniversary – Call for reflections

This year, Acumen Practice Notes will be reaching a milestone of 60 years of delivering practice notes to members. We are asking you to share recollections, stories or insights you have on Acumen so we may post these reflections throughout 2024 to celebrate this milestone.

Calling for EOIs

We have openings for member applications to both the Acumen Content Review Panel (ACRP) and the Environment Advisory Group (EAG) as below:


Acumen Content Review Panel

We are seeking two new members to join the ACRP, an active national committee tasked to develop and maintain the accuracy, currency and quality of the Acumen practice notes.  Applicants should be a current Institute member and preferably a practicing registered architect.

Environment Advisory Group

We are seeking two new members to join the EAG, an active national advisory group tasked to provide oversight and advice on Environment content in Acumen. Applicants should have a working knowledge of sustainable design and be a current Institute member.  

We extend thanks to our outgoing ACT member Paul Barnett for the valued contribution and personable practical perspective he brought to the EAG for over three years.
