City Collective is proud to have led the urban design, architecture, planning, landscape architecture, and interior design of the Salisbury Aquatic Centre within the Salisbury Recreation Precinct. Collaborating closely with the City of Salisbury, Managing Contractor, broader design team, and the community, we created a vibrant and inclusive space that promotes active lifestyles while strengthening local identity.
The original centre was outdated, with limited amenities and infrastructure that failed to attract families, teenagers, and young adults. Our concept design reimagined the precinct as a dynamic community hub, balancing active and passive recreation in a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment. Thoughtfully integrated with its natural surroundings, the revitalised precinct enhances health, wellbeing, and social connection.
Key features include both indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides, splash pad, café, picnic area, and gym, all designed to cater to all ages and abilities, ensuring a sustainable and engaging space for the entire community.
The design of the new Salisbury Aquatic Centre has enabled the Council to provide our community with a modern, inclusive, and sustainable aquatic facility that provides for both recreation and fitness activities. Families and individuals benefit from the accessible amenities which cater to all ages and abilities. From a worker and operators persecutive, the design provides improved operational efficiencies, functionality, safety, and maintenance.
