Northsea is Australia’s first mixed-tenure housing project, located in Wollongong, NSW. The development includes 38 private apartments, 9 affordable housing tenancies, and 18 social housing units, all within a 13-storey tower. Designed by Jackson Teece and ADM Architects, Northsea promotes inclusivity and community through shared spaces and diverse apartment layouts, including dual-key options for social housing. The tower offers stunning views, common areas, and sustainable features like rainwater harvesting. Built on a former social housing site, the project exemplifies a collaborative approach to tackling the housing crisis, offering stable, integrated living for all residents.
Jackson Teece and ADM Architects designed a building that is resilient, purposeful and beautiful, one that we are proud to have in our portfolio of waterfront properties. Displaying a sensitive understanding of the expectations of private buyers and the needs of community housing tenants, they crafted a first of its kind mixed tenure building around a single core. The flexibility of dual-key apartments provided a bonus, creating the potential for more homes for community tenants. The architectural merit of the building, maximising views and the northerly aspect, was instrumental in securing the 100% sellout of apartments before completion.
