The Haberfield House comprises a sensitive addition to a federation dwelling in a cherished Sydney heritage context. The addition reinterprets traditional heritage forms, with an offset hip roof set above monolithic brick columns to provide an anchoring presence. A lightwell is incorporated into the centre of the plan to introduce vegetation, cross ventilation and northern solar access, enhancing the passive performance of the building. The built outcome restores this valuable heritage asset, refreshing it for the current residents and future generations.
