Brookfield House is an alterations and additions project to a suburban home, combining a reworked interior with a new pool pavilion set within an established landscape. Operating as both an interiors and landscape-driven project, the design reshapes how the house is entered, occupied and shared, strengthening everyday connections between people and nature.
Grounded in the idea of cooking and gathering as social activities, the design prioritises long vistas, improved arrival, and a seamless relationship between inside and out. Informed by the client, the project embraces a desire to “touch the earth,” allowing the garden to shape spatial experience.
The pool pavilion captures northern light and frames views of the surrounding tree canopy, while its low awning roof ties in the old and the new. Together with the reconfigured interior, the project transforms the house into a more open, legible and connected home that supports lively gatherings and quieter daily rituals.
We love our renovation because it lets us stay where we belong while living better every day. We love our location—the light, neighbourhood, sense of familiarity—and renovating meant we didn’t have to give that up. Tim and David delivered a design that finally connects our living spaces to the outdoor pool, blurring the line between inside and out. Doors open, views stretch, and the house now flows naturally with how we live. Upgrading the living level has brought more space, comfort, and flexibility. It feels considered and intentional, turning a good home into one that truly works for us.
