Brisbane
Australian Unity Herston is their first Queensland flagship workplace and is designed to encourage celebration through wellness. Contrasting the Heritage and the textural bricks, the fitout of the workspace sits lightly to encourage celebration of the space which it inhabits.
Australian Unity are now equipped with dedicated spaces which bring Brisbane staff together, as well as a flexible place to educate and entertain. The compartments of the building are respected and incorporated into a functional space which provides amenity beyond their expectations which are sought out by their interstate colleagues.
The design consciously touches the Heritage brickwork and arches in as few places as possible and allows the original forms and textures to be celebrated by all who visit. The layout focuses on the vistas of the Heritage windows and encourages enjoyment of the precinct and the building’s exterior from the balconies.
Australian Unity is delighted with the design for the Edith Cavell building as the head office for Australian Unity in Queensland. The fitout has received wide commendation from all visitors since opening in February 2022 and respectfully gives a nod to the heritage of the building while providing a warm and inviting place to work or visit.
The design requirements were broad including breakout spaces, meeting rooms, workspace, and high-quality function space with catering kitchenette.
The fitout achieved is of exceptional quality and allows Australian Unity to host a range of events including boardroom meetings, presentations and professional networking events.
