Altum Living redefines inclusive living, prioritizing accessibility, community, and aging in place. Designed by GHD, this two-tower development on Scarborough Beach, Perth, goes beyond accessibility compliance, fostering belonging and independence. Curved forms echo the coastline, while strategically integrated amenities like a public café, pool, and gym create a vibrant hub. Apartments feature generous storage, adaptable bathrooms, and level floor plates, supporting residents’ evolving needs. The design adheres to Silver Rating guidelines and Seniors Community Design principles. Floor-to-ceiling windows maximize natural light and coastal views, while north-facing balconies offer ideal outdoor living. This project challenges traditional housing models, empowering residents to thrive in a supportive and beautiful environment.
EmAGN Project Award – Altum Living by GHD Design, presented by Issac Ormack.
Isaac’s leadership on the Altum Living project showcases the significant professional growth that the EmAGN demographic can achieve through complex and challenging projects. His leadership journey was marked by the adaptability and resilience he demonstrated throughout the project, particularly in navigating the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Isaac’s ability to lead the project with composure, even in the face of shifting safety protocols and supply chain disruptions, ensured that the project stayed on track and met its design intent. His hands-on approach to managing shop drawings and directly collaborating with contractors further refined his technical skills, emphasizing the importance of meticulous attention to detail in maintaining architectural quality.
It is evident that GHD Design cultivated a strong culture of collaboration, with Isaac creating an environment that encouraged open communication and teamwork. He mentored junior architects and worked closely with consultants and contractors, promoting a culture of shared knowledge and problem-solving. Isaac’s proactive and solution-oriented approach allowed other members of the EmAGN demographic to gain invaluable insights into project management and design execution, enriching their professional development.
Through his involvement in Altum Living, Isaac demonstrated an exemplary commitment to both the technical and collaborative aspects of architecture, contributing to a built outcome that reflects his leadership, expertise, and the successful integration of team contributions.
