The redevelopment of Village Green by Design Theory has transformed the precinct into a vibrant hospitality hub, blending dynamic social spaces with practical, functional design. As Lead Designers & Art Consultants, the team played a pivotal role in revitalising the space by reimagining welcoming entrances, alfresco areas, lighting, and public art. The concept focused on creating an approachable, multi-purpose open space that fosters community engagement and cultural expression.
The revitalisation has increased foot traffic and tenant occupancy, while offering a sense of place and connection for the local community. A vibrant public art collection sits alongside the built form, developed in collaboration with our sister studio, Art Theory & includes sculpture, mural and lightworks, all thoughtful site responsive commissions, inspired by locality and community.
The revitalised space has solidified its role as a central hub to enrich the precinct’s cultural identity, showcasing the power of thoughtful design to create lasting public value.
The transformation of Village Green has significantly increased the value of our asset, revitalising the precinct into a dynamic and inviting destination. Working with Design Theory, we’ve created a space that not only enhances the shopping experience but also fosters social interaction, leisure, and community engagement. The thoughtful design integrates functional elements like alfresco areas and custom seating with vibrant public art, providing a place for people to connect. The project has strengthened the precinct’s role as a key hub in the area, attracting new tenants and increasing foot traffic, while meeting the evolving needs of our visitors.
