Clans of the Kulin Nation (Braemar is on disputed land between a number of clans)
Victoria
The new Stages 2 and 3 for Braemar College are the next chapter for the school in the establishment of their new campus located on 320 acres of farmland halfway between Mt Macedon and the township of Woodend. The architectural language celebrates the true uniqueness of the location, drawing on the rural vernacular with an interpretation suitable for a learning environment whilst continuing to realise the vision for education at Braemar.
Oriented in homage to the distinctive profile of Hanging Rock, the positioning, form and rhythm of Stages 2 and 3 are arranged and ordered along the primary circulation axis. This allows for the formation of passive and active recreational spaces and the capture of views to the mountains beyond. Hanging Rock’s presence within the Campus and learning spaces is strong, with occupants continually feeling connected to their surrounding natural environment.
