Award – Linsijin Jiang

In ‘Barriers of Jakarta’ Linsijin (Joey) delivered an impressively thoughtful and mature response that demonstrated deep empathy, cultural awareness, and architectural sensitivity. The resulting scheme was not only highly resolved and considered, but also conceptually rich, inviting the jury to rethink their understanding of permanence in the built environment. This sophisticated approach revealed a strong architectural intuition and a capacity to work across cultural and geographic boundaries with care and conviction.
Commendation – Angus Gregg
Angus should be congratulated for his simple, elegant, and highly considered architectural response to the existing heritage fabric of Cockatoo Island. The jury was particularly impressed by the clarity and resolution of his concept, which demonstrated a deep respect for the site’s historical layers while offering a restrained and contemporary intervention.

Commendation – Jack Olive
Jack’s approach to the subject site was both mature and deeply evocative, presenting a conceptual provocation that was sculptural, sensory, and profoundly grounded in place. His proposal moved beyond the visual, engaging the senses and inviting an embodied experience of space that lingered with the jury long after the presentation.
