Victorian enabling architecture Prize

The Victorian Enabling Architecture Prize is awarded annually to an individual, practice, company or organisation that has shown exceptional leadership in advancing universally accessible and inclusive architecture in Victoria. Open to both members of the Australian Institute of Architects and non-architect contributors, the prize recognises those who have made a significant and lasting impact on the creation of built environments that support the dignity, independence, and participation of people of all abilities. It celebrates innovation and best practice in inclusive design, and aims to elevate awareness of accessible architecture across the state. In doing so, the prize also supports the Victorian Chapter’s broader policy and advocacy objectives in championing equity and inclusion within the built environment. The jury comprises the Victorian State President or Chapter nominee, the previous year’s winner (or a Chapter-appointed juror in the inaugural year), and a representative from the National Enabling Architecture Committee (NEAC).

The Prize will be announced at the Victorian Chapter end-of-year event. The Victorian chapter will promote the prize, projects, and winners through various mediums—such as the Victorian Chapter Instagram, e-news, and Institute Website.
