With Brisbane 2032 accelerating, the Queensland Chapter has been leaning in – advocating for a Games legacy measured not just in venues, but in better everyday city-making: greener movement corridors, cooler streets, and public places people love long after the closing ceremony.
Through Green Pathways, Gold Places, and alongside our partners PIA, AILA and DIA, we’ve been championing a connected Green Grid and an “Olympic Forest” approach that stitches venues into a healthier, more walkable and rideable city and region.
That advocacy is translating into momentum. Brisbane City Council has now released its Making our Mark legacy initiatives, with the Green Grid selected as one of 50 ideas for community feedback and voting – an encouraging signal that design-led thinking is being heard.
Your voice matters. Brisbane City Council is inviting the community to vote on its “Making Our Mark” legacy initiatives – and The Green Grid is one of the ideas up for support. If you’d like to see a cooler, greener, more connected Brisbane as part of the 2032 legacy, please take a moment to vote for The Green Grid before 15 March 2026.
