Congratulations to our 2020 Life Fellows, Fellows and Queensland Institute of Architects Medallion winners.
Recently we celebrated the elevation of seven of our members to Life Fellow, and 18 new Fellows.
We were particularly delighted to see so many regional and women architects being honoured. In 2020, there was an increase of 55% female Fellowships and 40% female Life Fellowships from 2019. 10 regionally based architects were elevated in 2020 compared with two in 2019.
Chapter President, Michael Lavery, awarded the President’s Prize to Jack Williamson LFRAIA for his distinguished and ongoing service to the practice of architecture, and the Fryer Library, University of Queensland, for their initiatives in archiving Queensland’s architectural record.
The four schools of architecture nominated outstanding final year students for the QIA Medallion and the Board of Architects Queensland Prize.
The President Honours event was great evening of camaraderie, congratulations, and catch-ups for members from all career stages.
