Eora Journey Harbour Walk Storytelling Report

The Eora Journey – Harbour Walk Storytelling Report is a draft for the City of Sydney. The written report provides the foundational storytelling framework and recommendations to guide the implementation of the Harbour Walk being developed by the city in collaboration with community members and project partners. The document was last updated September 2019.

Casino Aboriginal Medical Service

The Casino Aboriginal Medical Service is a built project completed in 2016. The project aimed to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities by constructing a public medical service building. The project created a social hub with medical services for the community that responds to culture and Country.

West Kimberly Regional Prison

A built project, the West Kimberley Regional Prison, the first culturally appropriate Indigenous prison. Designed in consultation with Kimberly Elders.

Yagan Square

Yagan Square is a cross cultural collaboration-built project, that extends the Perth CBD into a cultural hub. It is a community space and remains a traditional meeting place for the Whadjuk people. The project is a type of urban ecological repair, both physical and cultural.

For our Country – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander memorial

For our Country is a memorial at the Australian War Memorial that commenmorates the military service of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Peoples. The built project was designed by Kudjala/Gangalu/Kuku Yalanji/Waka Waka/Gubbi Gubbi/Wangerriburra/Bandjalung man Daniel Boyd from North Queensland. The memorial manifests a deep connection to the land and reflects importance of protecting Country.

wukalina krakani-lumi

wukalina walk is Palawa owned and operated cultural experience in Northeast Lutruwita/Tasmania. The walk shares Country, culture, community and language. The area designed is a gathering and resting area within this walk.

East Pilbara Arts Centre

East Pilbara Arts Centre is a built project for the community of Newman. Completed in 2016, the site has become an important cultural facility featuring a new art gallery and community spaces. The designs of the building worked with Country, considering the environment and utilising found objects.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre

Uluru-Kata Tjuta is a built project and cultural centre. It’s built sustainability, emphasising a responsibility to the environment and as a celebration of Anangu culture.

Synapse SAIF (Supported Accommodation Innovation Fund)

The built project, Synapse Warner Street is a part of the Supported Accommodation Innovation Fund. The facility is supported accommodation for people with acquired brain injury. Methodology of designs for the site focused on idea of reconnecting to Country through stimulation of colours textures and smells.
