Lowes Creek Maryland Structure Plan
Lowes Creek Maryland is a new precinct planned for Sydney’s South West Growth Area. The Department of Planning and Environment, in collaboration with Camden Council, prepared the precinct plan for Lowes Creek Maryland, a guide for the precinct’s creation. It provides significant Aboriginal Cultural heritage and European heritage protections and outlines infrastructure for future communities to thrive.
Lockhart River Retail Store and Offices
The Retail Store and Offices in Lockhart River is a built project in Far North Queensland. It serves as a commercial space to a remote Aboriginal community with facilities that meet their needs. The design of the space works with Country, taking into consideration the culture, climate and landscape of the area.
Koorie Heritage Trust
The Koorie Heritage Trust is an organisation based in Melbourne that works to raise awareness and appreciation of the cultural diversity of Indigenous Australians, particularly in Victoria. They offer cultural resources including programs, training, family history and art services. The Koorie Heritage Trust building includes a public collection dedicated to Indigenous art and culture that includes artefacts, pictures and photographs.
Kamay Botany Bay National Park, Kurnell Master Plan
The Kamay Botany Bay National Park Master Plan is a document that provides conceptual plans for part of the national park, considers the importance of the site and enables the community to see the types of changes, improvements and conservation intentions are proposed for the area. The Master Plan contains principles for approaching culture and heritage for sites within Kamay Botany Bay.
James Cook University Outdoor Learning Centre
The Indigenous Outdoor Learning Centre (OLC) at JCU’s Douglas Campus is a built project completed in 2014. It’s an educational space designed with an outdoor teaching environment that promotes two way learning of different cultures. The project was built using sustainable practices and Indigenous knowledge.
Institute of Koorie Education, Deakin University
Institute of Koorie Education is a built project at Deakin University Waurn Ponds Campus. The building aspires to express the spirit of Koorie culture and connect with the natural environment and landscape. The building is an educational institution with facilities to promote community.

In Absence Pavilion
In Absence Pavilion is a built project that invites audiences to understand the fallacy and ongoing legacy of the premise of Terra Nullius. The project sets out to combine contemporary architectural strategies and the semiotic potential of architecture, art and landscape to reveal resonant stories. Completed in 2019, it uses the context of the site and materials to celebrate Indigenous knowledge, heritage, culture and connection to Country.
Guruwaal (Alumni Green), University of New South Wales
Guruwaal 2021 is a community led art installation in the Alumni Green of University of New South Wales. The artwork was designed and led by local Aboriginal Knowledge Holders and Custodians. The artwork draws upon the narratives, histories and language of the local Aboriginal community and is connected to the knowledges of place and the deep histories of Country that are embedded within the community.
Garma Cultural Knowledge Centre
The Garma Cultural Knowledge Centre is a significant cultural centre. Completed in 2014, the built project operates as an adult learning centre, meeting place and a place to protect and showcase cultural artefacts. It is also the site where Yolgnu Elders practice and preserve culture through the Garma Festival. The permanent construction of the centre was intended to enable further activities at the site.
