General renewal offer
If you renew your membership on or before the due date of 17 January 2023 you’re eligible to access one of the Institute’s free online CPD courses, choosing between Respecting Country through Design or Risk in Architecture. You’ll receive an email by 31 January 2023 with instructions for redeeming your free course via promo code. Promo code valid for use from the date of issue to 31 March 2023. (conditions apply).

Update your study details for 2023 via the member portal to confirm your ongoing eligibility for SONA membership
How to update your study details:
- Login to the member portal
- Select My Profile
- Scroll down the About Me page to 2023 Study Details
- Click Edit, adding your 2023 course details and Save
I’ve deferred, can I still be a SONA Member?
If you’re deferred for 1 year or less, the great news is that you’re still eligible for SONA membership. Please follow the above steps and select ‘deferred’ as your year of study in 2023.

I'VE COMPLETED MY STUDIES. WILL MY MEMBERSHIP CHANGE?
I’ve graduated with a Master of Architecture
Congratulations! If you’ve graduated with a Master of Architecture, you’re now eligible for Graduate membership. The great news is that if your graduation year is 2022 your annual membership fee is only 50% of the full graduate fee at just $98 for the whole of 2023. View the 2023 membership category rates and benefits here. To elevate your membership to Graduate, please email a certified copy of your Master of Architecture graduation certificate or official academic transcript to membership@architecture.com.au.
If you don’t have your graduation certificate or official academic transcript, that’s ok. You can renew your membership as a SONA (student) member and then once you’ve received your graduation documents, email membership@architecture.com.au and we’ll upgrade you to Graduate membership at no additional charge.
I’ve graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent) and am continuing to the Master of Architecture
Congratulations! If you’re continuing your studies with a Master of Architecture, you’re still eligible for SONA membership until you’ve completed your professional qualification in architecture. Please update your 2023 study details in the member portal. View 2023 membership category rates and benefits here.
I’ve graduated with a built environment related qualification
If you’ve completed a degree level (or higher) course in a built environment discipline such as interior design, landscape architecture, engineering, planning or other profession in the built environment sector, you’re now eligible for Affiliate membership. To elevate your membership to Affiliate, please email a certified copy of your graduation certificate or official academic transcript to membership@architecture.com.au. From 2023 we’re offering first year graduates entering the Affiliate category a reduced fee at $98 for a full year of membership. View 2023 membership category rates and benefits here
If you’ve completed a Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent), but won’t continue to a Master of Architecture, you’re now eligible for Affiliate membership. To elevate your membership to Affiliate, please email us a certified copy of your graduation certificate or official academic transcript to membership@architecture.com.au.

SONA membership remains great value in 2022, with an annual fee of just $39.

SONA members who renew their 2022 membership on or before the due date of 10 January 2022 are eligible to redeem one free online CPD, PALS refresher course. Eligible members will receive an email on 14 January 2022, with instructions for redeeming their free course via promo code. Promo code valid for use 14 January to 28 February 2022. (conditions apply).

If you don’t have your graduation certificate or official academic transcript, that’s ok. You can renew your membership as a SONA (student) member and then once you have received your graduation documents, email membership@architecture.com.au and we will upgrade you to Graduate for no additional charge.

Not a SONA member?
If you’re a graduate of architecture or a registered architect, and have an individual membership, please visit the individual member renewal page.
If you hold an A+ Practice Membership or you are an employee at a practice with A+ Practice, please visit the A+ practice membership page.
