Rain Curtain House | Room 11

residential architecture | houses (new)

As the name implies, this house is a celebration of a particular climate: the glorious deluge of rainfall that one of the cleanest places on the planet can be subject.
As the courtyard becomes the catalyst for the overall design, it is also a place in which the residents can find solace, and a space where the outside and the inside co-exist in harmony. Designed to edit out the view of immediate neighbouring
houses, this space engenders a monastic feel to the home.

Client perspective:
How does the design benefit the way you live/work/play/operate/educate/other?

“Easy separation of work, living, and play is a major feature of our home. Coming home into the warm kitchen is welcoming, sleeping separated from the living areas enhances privacy, and having discrete spaces for working out, and for working from home (our own cabin/workplace), makes this a place we’re both happy to be in and to come back to.”
