The Australian Institute of Architects Tasmanian Chapter has appointed Emily Ouston to the role of Vice President.
Emily is a registered architect with Core Collective, a Hobart-based practice with a commitment to environmentally sustainable, people-centred design. She has over ten years’ experience across a range of project types in New South Wales and Tasmania, including commercial, education, healthcare, public and multi-residential projects.
Emily was a recipient of the national Dulux Study Tour prize in 2012 which fostered in her a love of study-led travel. Her curiosity and thirst for knowledge has led to her experiences of buildings and their designers in many cities including Berlin, Reykjavik, London and Barcelona.
In her role as Vice President for the Tasmanian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects, Emily seeks to promote people-centred design and the smart development of Tasmania’s cities as a means to foster growth and the protection of the natural environment. Emily and Core Collective as a practice have recently committed to going carbon neutral in 2020 as part of the Architects Declare movement, starting by switching to 100% accredited GreenPower by the end of January 2020.
