We recently announced a range of changes to the membership category structure. The main category changes have been implemented for current members and you can now view your confirmed 2023 category in your member profile by logging into the member portal.
One of the proposed changes included an expansion of the eligibility criteria for the Affiliate category (former Affiliate level 2) to admit holders of a diploma level qualification. This specific change included within the broader membership category restructure has given rise to a range of views and direct feedback warranting our further consideration.
We would like to assure members that the Board and National Council will convene to review the proposed expansion to the eligibility for the Affiliate category in light of the feedback, and will provide further updates to members.
In the meantime, the current eligibility for Affiliate members to hold a bachelor degree qualification or higher in a built environment-related discipline will remain in place, in line with our existing membership rules.
